He knew what he did not want to become at a young age. A restaurateur, like his father! He persevered and resisted the pressures. He was rebellious from the beginning. Unfortunately he could not finish High School, due to the frivolous amount of tuition that his parents didn’t have (10 shillings at the time). That’s when he began realizing the meaning of “the power of will”. He started selling refreshments through his push cart. Then he started cleaning offices. While doing that, he discovered the existence of books. His next job was at an imports company, where he self taught himself typewriting. He was saving up money throughout the years and with great yearning he opened up his first small shop, making and selling candles. He continued his search for new merchandise for his small shop, and he found some in Famagusta (Cyprus). By doing that, he was slowly adding variety to his merchandise. Eventually he opened up a General Store. In the mean time, systematically he was studying English, and during the WWII 1940 he started learning German from Jew refugees that were fleeing to Cyprus. With the knowledge of the German language he could now write letters to different companies securing the distribution of their products in Cyprus. He later on, attended German courses at the local Goethe Institute where he perfected his German Language. He travelled and he worked on with general trade…..His secret? “Be daring with moderation and willing to try out new things”.
Born in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1941, and graduated from the Pancyprian Gymnasium in 1959. In 1961 he went to the United Kingdom to study Business and graduated in 1964. In 1964, he travelled to Germany to take a course at the Krautol Factory (which was one of the companies that A.Apostolides & Sons Ltd was representing in Cyprus), specializing in the Epoxy Floors and paints. At the same time, he took a course in the German language. He returned to Cyprus in 1965, and became the Director of A.Apostolides & Sons Ltd. In 1970 he ventured into a new field and created the first fresh water fishery in Cyprus at Fini village, called Fini Fisheries Ltd. In 1985 he continued with another one, which was the first sea water fishery in Liopetri, Cyprus and was called Telia Aquamarine Ltd. In 1990, he returned to managing A.Apostolides & Sons Ltd, along with his daughter Tereza Apostolidou, following his father’s philosophy, Apostolos Apostolides, until today.
Tereza was born in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1967. She graduated from The English School Nicosia in 1985. From 1985-1987 she was part of the Cyprus National Tennis Team. In 1987 she went to Connecticut to study Business Administration and graduated in 1991. She returned to Cyprus and joined the company, and introduced new, modern and revolutionary decorative materials in the Cyprus market. She is still continuing the philosophy of her grandfather, the founder of A.Apostolides & Sons Ltd until today with her father, Roger Apostolides.

Jane was found wandering the streets of Nicosia one day back in October of 2007.
The efforts of finding her owner at the time were unfruitful, so instead of giving her to the dog shelter we decided to take her under our wings as the new member of the family/company.
She is always at the door waiting to greet you with a cute welcoming bark!
